The proposed workshop will focus legal and policy issues that parliamentarians may face in drafting legislation and conducting oversight of trade agreements, health policy and other issues affecting access to medicines. More specifically, the workshop seeks to train a cadre of members of parliaments (MPs) on the effects of applying a human rights framework to access to medicines law and policy, including intellectual property, competition, medicines regulation (including pricing and availability measures) and trade law frameworks.
