The Secretary General of the SADC Parliamentary Forum, Ms. Boemo Sekgoma, has commended directors of Information Communication Technology (ICT) departments of national parliaments for their commitment and dedication to fostering digital empowerment within parliaments.

SADC Parliamentary Forum Members of Parliament were in Germany this week to participate in a fact-finding tour on parliamentary democracy as part of the Guest Programme of the Federal Republic of Germany.

STATEMENT FROM THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE SADC PARLIAMENTARY FORUM ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 8TH MARCH 2024

The Parliament of Malawi has signed up to the third phase of a SIDA-funded Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, HIV and AIDS Governance Project.

Malawi becomes the sixth national parliament – after the Parliaments of Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique and Lesotho – to implement the project that was initiated by the SADC Parliamentary Forum and is open to 15 SADC Member States.

The First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Malawi, Honourable Madalitso Kazombo, welcomed the Project when he and SADC PF Secretary General Ms Boemo Sekgoma signed an Implementation Agreement in Lilongwe on 6 March, 2024.

MAPUTO – Combating corruption and fraud became the centerpiece of an agreement between the SADC Parliamentary Forum and the National Assembly of Mozambique on Wednesday.

SADC PF Secretary General Ms. Boemo Sekgoma and the Secretary General/Clerk of the National Assembly of Mozambique, Mr. Alfredo Vasco Noguiera Nampete, signed an Implementation Agreement on the third phase of a Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, HIV and AIDS Governance Project.

MAPUTO – The Secretary General/ Clerk of the National Assembly of Mozambique, Mr. Alfredo Vasco Noguiera Nampete, has rallied staff of his parliament behind a renewed Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, HIV and AIDS Governance Project.

The SADC Parliamentary Forum is implementing the three-year Project that is open to 15 national parliaments in the SADC region. The Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), which financially supported the first and second phases of the Project, is funding the third phase to the tune of USD 5 million.

It is with solemn dismay that we have taken cognizance of the passing on of His Excellency, Dr Hage G.Geingob, who assumed, until today, the functions of President of the Republic of Namibia.
